The development of the tin plate industry: memoirs of W.C. Cronemeyer. [ca. 1910-1920]

Cronemeyer recounts his efforts in lobbying in Washington, D.C. for legislative support for higher tariffs on imported tinplate to protect the fledgling American tinplate manufacturing industry. He details the growth of the American Sheet and Tin Plate Company, United States Iron and Tin Plate Company, and American Tin Plate Company that became a subsidiary of the United States Steel Corporation. He includes his work with the Associated Manufacturers of Tin and Tern Plate of the United States and the American Tinned Plate Association, and mentions the Tin Plate Consumers Association.
